Happy New Year! Every year the great debate seems to be whether to spend New Year’s Eve at home in my favorite jammies or to get all dolled up and go out. Where do you tend to fall? As much as I love a quiet night in (or a not-so-quiet game night when the family is still in town), the idea of getting dressed to the nines for a fancy night out appeals to me on occasion. If you’re looking for a night out on the town, here are a couple events you might consider:
New Year’s Eve Family Bash
Bring the family down to the Kettering Rec Center from 5:30 to 8:30 for fun and games! The ice rink, gyms, and indoor pool will be open. There will also be raffles, concessions, inflatables. Admission is $15 per family of four. $5 per additional person. Preregistration is not required. Skate rental is $3 per person. Let the kids bring in 2019 with a bang before heading out yourself!
Roaring 20’s NYE Party
Head over to Crafted and Cured on Wayne Ave for this old-school styled bash! The party starts at 7 pm, so come dressed as a flapper ready to “party like it’s 1925!” There will be a $5 charge at the door, but they also will provide a free champagne toast at midnight!
Irish New Year
Toast the New Year – TWICE! Fiddle tunes, bagpipes, and all your favorites! Enjoy dinner from the Dublin Pub’s special NYE menu, toast the Irish New Year at 7 pm, then party through the New Year in local time! Jameson’s Folly will be playing all night!
A NOLA New Year’s Eve Dinner
Roll into 2019 with a New Orleans-Inspired five course dinner at Lily’s Bistro on 5th Street downtown! There will be sparkling wine specials all night long, a champagne toast at midnight and with dinner seatings from 5 – 11 pm, they’ll be keeping the bar open for all your new year’s revelry! The cost is $59 (plus tax and tip), and reservations encouraged at (937) 723-7637 or www.lilysbistro.com/reservations.
